Business Solutions

Representing the business within our Digital team, we provide strategic direction and roadmaps for all solutions and support their technical delivery. We maintain close relationships with all Group areas and functions to ensure that the IT products and services are evolving in line with the needs of our global business. Streamlined and high quality implementation of the needed products and services is handled in our product areas.

Our team members have strong strategic thinking and good communication skills, love to develop relationships with customers and are passionate about improving the caliber of our business. 

Digital Business and Partnerships

The Digital Business & Partnerships department is at the forefront of driving digital transformation and innovation. Our team is dedicated to developing cutting-edge digital products that revolutionize the way we do business. We focus on creating seamless, high impact solutions that empower our customers with real-time data and enhanced control over their operations. By leveraging advanced technologies, fostering strategic partnerships and digital investments, we aim to deliver exceptional value and drive growth for us and our partner ecosystem in the digital landscape. Digital Cement Operations

Our company not only wants to reduce the environmental footprint of our cement plants, but also fundamentally change the way we do business. The Digital Cement Plant is at the forefront of these efforts, creating value by innovating and applying new technologies to our core business. We roll out new digital solutions, engage our local teams across the world and drive the rapid adoption of our digital products.

Digital Materials Operations

The Digital Materials Operations (DMO) department is dedicated to creating a best-in-class, integrated suite of standardised systems for the ready-mixed concrete, aggregates, and asphalt business lines. Our mission is to enhance value and efficiency through the power of automation and AI. The DMO team focuses on four key pillars: Processes, Future System Landscape, Digital Partnerships, and Automation & AI.

By leveraging these pillars, we aim to provide additional guidance for our product teams and drive innovation across the organization.  

Finance & Governance

Providing a basis for decision-making based on the financial impact, allocating costs to products and customers and preparing as well as steering the IT budget globally are our core tasks.

In this team it is all about numbers – so you should definitely love them! But we also care about the story behind the numbers and about our people. Our team members have an analytical mind, work well with structure and are team players.

UX & Customer Insights

We are curious and creative people from various industries and backgrounds. Putting ourselves in the shoes of our users is what we do for a living. We love to understand the problem and try not to jump into solution mode too quickly.

Through global yet pragmatic user research, we seek an active dialogue with our customers at construction and production sites. Along with the nuggets of knowledge gained from the synthesis of our research, we use quantitative measurement of our end users’ activities on our digital products to form tangible and strategic directions for our product teams. We truly believe that providing the best experience for our customers requires a deep understanding of the end-user’s needs and a relentless drive to meet them.

Software Engineering

Our Software Engineering team develops cutting-edge applications (React, C#, Microservices) that streamline operations and enhance productivity across our global network. From plant optimization tools to customer-facing platforms, we create solutions that drive efficiency and innovation in the construction materials industry.

Data & AI

The Data & AI team transforms raw data into actionable insights, leveraging advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to optimize processes, predict maintenance needs, and enhance decision-making. Our solutions help reduce energy consumption, improve product quality, and minimize environmental impact.

AI Strategy & Transformation

This forward-thinking team shapes our AI roadmap and ensures seamless integration of new technologies across our front- and back-office processes. By identifying strategic opportunities and managing change, they guide and govern our global AI transformation journey.

SAP Development

Our SAP Development team is focused on the journey from SAP R/3 to S/4HANA, marking a significant leap in our enterprise capabilities. This migration unlocks new possibilities in real-time analytics and process automation. The team customizes and optimizes our global templates to meet our unique business needs, ensuring seamless integration across finance, logistics, and production workflows while preparing our infrastructure for future growth.

Infrastructure & Operations

The Infrastructure & Operations team maintains our robust technical foundation, ensuring 24/7 system availability and security. They manage our cloud and on-prem infrastructure, network security, and IT services, enabling our global workforce to operate efficiently and securely.

Together, these teams collaborate to drive Heidelberg Materials' digital transformation, combining technical expertise with industry knowledge to create innovative solutions for the construction materials industry.
