For our Department Digital-Cement Operations , we are looking for a Director Digital Cement Operations (f/m/d). The position is based at our Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and reports to the position Vice President Technology/Digital.
The Director Digital Cement Operations is accountable for driving Heidelberg Materials’ digital cement strategy forward, translating operational priorities into scalable digital solutions, and ensuring measurable value creation across cement operations.
The role acts as the strategic and operational bridge between Digital and the Competence Center Cement (CCC). In close partnership with CCC, plants, and regional organizations, the Director ensures that digital products, platforms, and data capabilities materially improve cost, reliability, productivity, safety, and decarbonization outcomes in cement operations.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Own and continuously evolve the digital cement strategy, aligned with CCC priorities, operational excellence objectives, and Group strategy.

Translate cement operational challenges (e.g. reliability, energy efficiency, maintenance, CO₂ reduction) into clear digital roadmaps and investment priorities.

Ensure all digital initiatives are tied to measurable business outcomes (e.g. cost reduction, throughput increase, energy efficiency, reliability, CO₂ impact).

Provide strategic leadership for HProduce and related digital cement platforms, ensuring a coherent suite rather than isolated products.

Oversee product portfolio decisions (build / scale / retire), prioritization, and funding recommendations.

Ensure strong product management, UX focus, and user adoption across regions and plants.

Drive global and regional roll‑out of digital cement solutions in close cooperation with plants, regions, and CCC.

Own the Digital Cement Operations budget, including prioritization of initiatives and ROI tracking.

Define and steer KPIs and OKRs for digital cement initiatives in alignment with CCC and Group Digital and provide regular, fact‑based

Lead and develop the Digital Cement Operations organization, including product leaders, platform owners, and key experts.
YOUR PROFILE

University degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science or Engineering

Tangible experience in cement operations, heavy process industry, or industrial operations, combined with digital or technology leadership exposure.

Proven track record in driving cross‑functional transformation initiatives at scale.

Strong strategic thinking paired with hands‑on execution mindset.

Ability to bridge operations and digital — translating shop‑floor realities into scalable digital solutions.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, including interaction with senior executives and plant leadership.

High analytical capability with a focus on measurable business impact.
